Wise Heart Community
yama studio's Wise Heart Community for Devotional Practice and Study is an interfaith group of seekers, striving through devotion, shared community, and selfless service to live life to good purpose and in the light of our true nature.
If you are looking for a spiritual community we invite you to join us on this path.
Come for sadhana ("practice") from 5:45 to 7:00 p.m. on the second through fifth Sunday evenings in the upstairs community room at Ruscombe Mansion's Hill House.
You may also wish to join us outdoors at Ruscombe on the first Saturday of the month for havan (fire ceremony) from 4 to 5 p.m. Beginning in November we will also hold kirtan (singing) from 5-6pm after the havan.
Our Friday night sadhana is an hour of reflection, chanting and song, simple ritual, and meditation. We draw on many religious traditions, including Hindu, Christian, Jewish, and Sufi. We also work on karma yoga project. Past projects include creating blankets in partnership with the Linus Project for the neonatal units at Mt. Washington Pediatric Hospital and Sinai Hospital and making fleece blankets for troops in Afghanistan. We welcome newcomers to join us at any time!
